The Lead Council of the Gambia's Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission (TRRC) has announced his candidacy for the upcoming presidential election on 4 December later this year. 

The renowned lawyer who served as Deputy General Prosecutor for the United Nations Serious Crime Unit in East Timor says he is the best candidate to lead the Gambia after December.

The former Charles Taylor Defense Lawyer Essa Faal declared his candidature on Friday after officially ending his role as the Lead Counsel of the TRRC.

But what are his chances of winning the election if he is qualified to contest?
