Spokesperson of former Ivorian leader Laurent Gbagbo is expected back in Abidjan after ten years of exile in Ghana.

According to a statement from the 'Gbagbo or Nothing' FPI wing, Justin Koné Katina is returning to Abidjan next Friday.

This former minister of Gbagbo is however a wanted man with several arrest warrants from the Ivorian ministry of justice.

In 2018, like Gbagbo, Justin Koné Katina was sentenced to 20 years in prison in the Bceao heist case.

According to the FPI statement, five other "Pro Gbagbo" executives in exile are returning with him on the same plane.

The voluntary returns have been facilitated by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

Secretary General of Gbagbo’s Ivorian Popular Front Assoa Adou adds that these exiles are returning to prepare for the return of former President, who has been acquitted by the International Criminal Court.
