The Education Association of Nigeria, EWAN on Monday mobilized other stakeholders in the country’s education sector to demand the immediate reopening of public universities in the country.
The association, a body of journalists across print, broadcast and online media organisations, said the intervention has become necessary following the continued shutdown of public universities for almost three months.
It says the decision of the government and the Academic Union of Universities to allow students stay idle for several months is partly responsible for the crime rate in the country.
