The regional bloc, ECOWAS has lifted sanctions on Mali after the Military junta who seized power in August made in-roads in forming a transition government.
Leaders of the Economic Community of West African States decided to impose the economic blockade on the soldiers, demanding that they return the country to civilian rule as well as release officials of the government taken prisoners during the coup d’état.
Although, a transition government was formed and regional sanctions now lifted, uncertainty remains of a smooth transition as political analyst Oumar Cheikh Doumbia explains.
