Russia has called for the continuation of a pragmatic and mutually beneficial dialogue between ECOWAS and the Alliance of Sahel States (ESA).
The appeal was made during a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and ECOWAS Commission President Omar Ali Touray.
Moscow emphasized the importance of coordinated responses to shared challenges facing the region.
Key among these are the fight against terrorism and the worsening insecurity across the Sahel-Saharan zone.
