The President of the Economic Community of West Africa State ECOWAS Commission Dr Omar Touray says 29 million people are facing food insecurity sub-region.
The top ECOWAS diplomat adds that if nothing is done, this number will hit 40 million by August this year
Speaking recently in the Gambian capital Banjul, Touray informs that ECOWAS soldiers stationed in the Gambia are not an occupation force but rather to provide security in the country and the region as a whole.
