The political crisis in Senegal has prompted The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to urgently convene an emergency summit to examine the political crisis in Senegal and the issues of Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso.

These three countries recently announced their decision to withdraw from the authorities of the sub-regional organisation.

ECOWAS Mediation and Security Council announced that foreign ministers would meet in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, to “discuss current security and political problems in the region.

Our guest is Paul Osei-Kuffour the Coordinator of West Africa Democracy Solidarity Network, WADEMOS.

He speaks to WADR on the political situation in Senegal and the possible outcome of the emergency summit of ECOWAS.
