In Liberia, there are growing calls from citizens, and civil society actors, for an extension of the ongoing voter registration exercise in phase one counties.

The first phase of the biometric voter registration exercise began on March 20 and is currently in six counties, including Bomi, Gbarpolu, Grand Cape Mount, Margibi, Grand Bassa, and Montserrado.

However, with the exercise scheduled to end on April 9, there are concerns that many people will not have had the opportunity to register to vote.
