Passengers from Brazil, South Africa, India, United Kingdom, Russia and Portugal to Togo will be systematically quarantined, Togolese authorities have decided.

According to Togolese health minister, Prof. Moustafa Mijiyawa this quarantine should last 10 days. Accrding to Prof. Mijiyawa, there are reports of variants of the coronavirus with high virulence and spread  ”in these countries.

The measure is applicable to all passengers “regardless of the result of the COVID-19test, the minister added

During the 10 days of the quarantine, passengers will have to "take care of themselves", indicates the authority.

Since the reopening of Lomé Airport in June 2020 after a temporary 3-month closure due to the pandemic, the COVID-19 PCR test is mandatory on arrival and departure from Lomé and are carried out 72 hours before the scheduled date of departure of the flight concerned.
