Over eighteen thousand Burkinabe refugees have so far fled to the northern and northeastern parts of theCôte d’Ivoire, seeking shelter from the ongoing violence perpetrated by terrorist groups in Burkina Faso.
The National Security Council, chaired by President Alassane Ouattara on Thursday, issued a statement confirming the increasing influx of refugees into the country.
The statement highlighted the dire situation and the devastating impact of the conflict in Burkina Faso, which has forced thousands of people to flee their homes in search of safety.
