A financial scandal in Côte d’Ivoire, was revealed in the latest report by the Court of Auditors. For the year 2022, only 792,000 FCFA were paid to the State in stamp duties on National Identity Cards (CNI) and passports.
This amount falls far short of expectations, given that stamp duties of FCFA 5,000 are payable on National Identity Cards (CNI) and FCFA 40,000 on passports, of which FCFA 20,000 is paid to the State.
The Société Nationale d’Édition de Documents Administratifs et d’Identification (SNEDAI), which is responsible for passports, was quick to react to the report by the Ivorian Court of Auditors.
