Claude Pivi, one of the masterminds behind the events of September 28, 2009, and who had been on the run since November 4, 2023, was extradited to Conakry on Thursday by Liberian authorities.
He was promptly detained at the Conakry Central Prison. The military prosecutor and the Attorney General of the Conakry Court of Appeal announced that security measures at the prison have been reinforced to prevent another attack.
However, judicial authorities clarified that his son, Verni Pivi, the leader of the commando that freed him, remains at large.
