A national developmental plan or agenda serves as a blueprint or objectives for a nation’s development. It can either be short-, medium- or long-term strategies designed to achieved a desired developmental goal by a set period. Also, the developmental plan serves as a benchmark for monitoring and evaluation of performances in achieving set goals.

In Senegal, the government of Bassirou Diomaye Faye and the Ousmane Sonko as part of political manifesto have launched the Senegal 2050 transformational agenda under the theme for national sovereignty, justice and prosperity in all aspects of the country.

In this edition of Citizens Hour, Governance expert and a Legal Practitioner Mr. Ibrahima Kane and Prof Gorgui Dieng, the Head of African and Postcolonial Studies, English Department, Cheikh Anta DIOP University, Dakar critically analyses the 25 year developmental plan of Senegal by the current administration.
