The Ministry of Health has disclosed that Seventy-Five Ghanaians, mostly men, die from tobacco and shisha smoking-related illnesses on a weekly basis.
The ministry further revealed that close to a million of the country’s population smoke cigarettes, shisha, and other tobacco products. A phenomenon described as a serious public health threat.
Meanwhile, The Ghana police service has arrested some narcotics dealers in the Greater Accra region.
A statement issued by the security force in Sunday indicated that the suspects, four in number were arrested on Friday, June 4.
They were conveying 892 slabs of plant material suspected to be narcotic drugs in a Benz bus. Investigations are underway to determine what the substance is and where the suspects were headed.
