The Constitutional Council in Chad has affirmed General Mahamat Idriss Déby’s victory in the May 6 presidential election. The Council upheld the results from ANGE, the electoral commission, which declared him the winner with 61% of the votes in the first round. The appeals from his main opponents, Prime Minister Succès Masra and former Prime Minister Albert Pahimi Padacké, were dismissed.
