The Chadian justice system has issued an international arrest warrant against Mahamat Mahdi Ali, a rebel commander.
Ali is leader of the Front for Change and Concord in Chad FACT, who was on Tuesday served a life sentence in absentia by a court in Ndjamena.
He was charged with acts of terrorism, enlisting children in the army and attacking the late President Idriss Deby Itno.
The public prosecutor at the high court of N’Djamena Moussa Wade Djibrine said the warrant issued against him is to enable his arrest and extradition to Chad to serve his sentence.
Recall on Tuesday, more than 400 FACT rebel fighters including leader Mahamat Mahdi Ali, were sentenced to life imprisonment by the Chadian courts.
