In Burkina Faso, where a court in Ouagadougou last night sentenced General Gilbert Diendéré, the right arm of former Burkinabe President Blaise Compaoré, to 20 years in prison in the popular Dabo Boukary trial.
He was convicted of complicity in illegal arrest and aggravated confinement. His co-accused, Colonel Mamadou Bamba, was also convicted on the same charges and sentenced to ten years in prison.
