Last Monday, a symposium was organized by several opposition leaders who are calling for a return to the 1990 constitution.

This grievance comes in addition to the order of the African Court of Human and Peoples' Rights which recently invited the regime of Patrice Talon to annul the amendment of the constitution more than a year ago.

In this text, several points sparked indignation, including the sponsorship system which, in the opinion of several experts, is aimed at removing the opposition of the 2021 presidential election.

Several voices were then raised in opposition to this initiative, which the Beninese authorities consider to be a major and innovative initiative.
