At least 38 people have been killed in three separate attacks in Giwa Local Government Area, Kaduna State, Nigeria.
The State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, disclosed this on Sunday evening.
The three villages involved in the attack are Kauran Fawa, Marke and Riheya.
Sources reveal that the attackers invaded the villages between Saturday and Sunday morning, shooting sporadically.
Several villagers were left hurt in the wake of the assaults.
Speaking on the development, the Kaduna State Commissioner for internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan said during the attacks, the bandits also burnt several houses, trucks, and cars along with agricultural produce at various farms.
He, however, said that security operatives have been deployed to sustain patrols in the general area.
The State Governor Nasir El-Rufai on his part expressed sadness over the attack and directed the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency to conduct an urgent assessment of the area towards providing relief to the victims.
