Amnesty International says repeated bans on demonstrations and the deaths of people during demonstrations are a real threat to the right to protest in Senegal.

The rights group says with another march scheduled for tomorrow, it is calling on the Senegalese authorities to guarantee the right to peaceful assembly, conduct independent and impartial investigations into deaths in previous demonstrations, and prohibit the excessive use of force by defense and security forces.

Abdullahi Hassan more details in this report.
