Ghana’s Constitution Review Committee has proposed significant constitutional reforms, including lowering the minimum age for presidential candidates from 40 to 30 years.

The recommendations also aim to tighten regulations around the Electoral Commission and make presidential benefits subject to taxation.

These proposals were presented to President John Dramani Mahama as part of efforts to modernize Ghana’s democratic framework.

The Committee says the reforms are designed to enhance governance and encourage youth participation in politics.
