Senegalese officials have made their first visit to Guinea-Bissau since the November 26 military coup, signaling solidarity as the country undergoes a political transition.
During the visit, the delegation called for the release of political prisoners detained after the coup and reaffirmed Dakar’s commitment to a peaceful transition.
The delegation was led by Senegal’s Foreign Minister Cheikh Niang and Armed Forces Minister General Birame Diop.
They delivered a message from President Bassirou Diomaye Faye to Guinea-Bissau’s transitional authorities, underscoring Senegal’s continued engagement in regional stability.
