Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) warns of an escalating malnutrition crisis in northwest Nigeria.
The international medical organization says the current humanitarian response is insufficient to avert a potential catastrophe in the coming months.
To reinforce its activities, MSF has launched new outpatient and inpatient therapeutic feeding centres in states across the region largely affected by insecurity, poverty and climate-related factors among others.
Speaking exclusively to WADR, Dr Simba Tirima, country representative in Nigeria, says the numbers are expected to increase at the onset of the lean season, which runs from May to August.
