The Burkinabe government said it recorded more than 11 million cases of malaria in 2022 with more than 4,000 deaths.
In a press briefing on Thursday, the Minister of Health Robert Lucien Jean-Claude Kargougou, said the number of death include 2,925 children under the age of 5.
Jean-Claude emphasized that almost 5 million children were reached by malaria prevention campaigns in 2023.
