The Nala Feminist Collective led by Aya Chebbi, the first appointed Youth Special Envoy to the African Union, has drafted the Africa Young Women Beijing+25 Manifesto that will be presented to global leaders at the Generation Equality Forum.
It’s a global gathering for gender equality convened by UN Women and co-hosted by the governments of France and Mexico that is scheduled to hold in Paris from June 30 to July 2, 2021.
The manifesto is a groundbreaking political document that sets out critical issues of concern for young African women and girls and makes demands for addressing them.
It also provides a platform for the achievement of the Africa Union's Agenda 2063 that aims to transform Africa into the global powerhouse of the future and the United Nations` Agenda 2030 for sustainable development (SDGs).
Aya Chebbi has been speaking to my colleague Adolphus Mawolo about this document.
