World Refugee Day is an international day designated by the United Nations to honor refugees around the globe.

It is observed annually on June 20 and celebrates the strength and courage of people forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution. World Refugee Day also allows us to reflect on the plights of refugees and recognize their resilience in rebuilding their lives.

Liberians are today joining the rest of the world to celebrate World Refugee Day under the global theme: For a World Where Refugees Are Welcomed.

Let’s assess the overall situation involving the overstayed Liberian refugees in the Budumburam Refugee Camp in Ghana up to their arrival in Liberia.
