The World Bank, European Union and the African Development Bank will provide a $40 million grant to the Gambia’s 2023 budget.

Total Revenue and Grants for 2023 of the country is projected to reach 31.48 billion Dalasi ($201 million) which represents a growth of 18.42 per cent over the 2022 figure of D26.59 billion.

The increase is mainly attributed to an estimated increase in tax revenue, budget support grants, and Non-Tax Revenue.

Meanwhile, the budget is largely spent on priority areas such as education and health.

Here is Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Seedy Keita, reading the budget estimate for 2023 before deputies on Monday.
