A UN agency says Mauritania is at risk of food insecurity due to delays in the rainy season which usually extends from June to October.
The World Food Program in a statement Thursday warned that more than 470,000 people will be food insecure if the rains are slow to come next season.
WFP representative in the country, Kinday Samba, during a press briefing said funds are needed to address the situation.
