Some regional leaders have gathered in the Liberian capital, Monrovia, to discuss a pivotal strategy aimed at improving measures to combat human trafficking across borders in the West African Subregion.

The event, organized by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), is the 16th Annual Meeting of the Regional Network of National Focal Institutions Against Trafficking in Persons Plus (RNNI-TIP+), which commenced on Monday, October 14, 2024.

Also known as the Free Town roadmap, the meeting calls for collaborative efforts among different sectors and institutions to strengthen the region’s fight against human trafficking.
