Food insecurity remains a major structural problem in the region. Out of its over 308 million inhabitants, 40 million and more people are undernourished and suffer from chronic malnutrition. Every year, food crises affect additional millions of people.
In Senegal, nutrition policy is at a crossroads. Reaching a critical moment where the effects of malnutrition could have a detrimental effect on generations of young Senegalese to come, the Government of Senegal is striving to make efforts to address the root problems of malnutrition.
