This edition of the programme takes a look at the broader context of democracy in West Africa and how its derailing effect is creating instability in the subregion.
Concerns follow how the subregion has been in stunted in development, over the past decades with widespread poverty, poor education, lack of adequate health care and, perhaps most importantly, unstable governments.

According to the International Monetary Fund reports over half of the countries in WEST AFRICA have some of the lowest annual rates of GDP per capita in the world.
