The West Africa Democracy Solidarity Network (WADEMOS) is organizing a two-day workshop in Abuja – the Nigerian capital.

Beginning this morning civil society actors, governance experts and researchers from all ECOWAS member states will discuss tenure elongation and its impact on democracy.

Beginning this morning civil society actors, governance experts and researchers from all ECOWAS member states will discuss tenure elongation and its impact on democracy.

While WADEMOS believes Decmoracy world over is under siege, it also worries that civilian rule in the subregion is potentially hijacked due to several factors among them, the third term agenda of sitting presidents.

Paul Osei-Kuffour, program coordinator at the Solidarity network talks about the importance of the workshop ahead of the ECOWAS December 10 Summit.
