US Govt warns Liberian politicians ahead of Nov 11 presidential election runoffs

Amid the impending November 14 runoff presidential election in Liberia, the United States Government has issued a warning to political figures, to refrain from engaging in pervasive hate speech and dissemination of misinformation.

The runoff election involves incumbent President George Weah and opposition leader Joseph Boakai of the Unity Party.

As political campaign activities are winding down, the unregulated realm of social media has witnessed a surge in hate speech and the dissemination of fabricated News.
