The United Nations Population Fund, UNFPA, is seeking increased investment in Nigeria's education sector and entrepreneurship development to unleash the potential of youth in the country.
The international body made the appeal as the global population hits a milestone of 8 billion, with Africa's most populous nation accounting for 2.7 per cent.
Nigeria is among eight countries the U.N says will account for more than half the world's population growth between now and 2050, along with Congo, Ethiopia and Tanzania.
