The United States has completed the withdrawal of its troops stationed in Niger to support the fight against terrorism.

The finalization of the process was announced in a joint statement Tuesday by the Nigerien Ministry of National Defence and the United States Department of Defence.

Concluded on September 15, the pullout was first initiated in May 2024 after Washington and Niamey ended military cooperation agreements.
