In Togo, the civil society is now turning its attention to the legitimacy of the just adopted constitution following a second reading by parliament.

The Collective of Associations Against Impunity in Togo, CACIT, is calling on the presidents of institutions of the Republic to refer the matter to the Constitutional Court.

The civil society organisation wants the legal institution to check whether the provisions of the new text comply with constitutional standards.

Gislain Gnackou is the Executive Director of the Collective of Associations Against Impunity in Togo.
