Togo’s government says it will audit the management of school fees across the country.
This is in line with the government's drive to improve the quality of services and education. According to the country’s minister of education, Dodzi Kokoroko, this audit will also enable the government to have a clearer idea of how school fees are collected, the performances of schools, and related demographics.
For many, this may also provide an avenue for the government to shore up funds for free examinations promised.
