The Gambia government says part of the former Gambian President Yahya Jammeh’s local high court breed trial could take place in Equatorial Guinea, Ghana and other West African countries.
This comes after reports claimed the ex-president Jammeh would be tried in The Hague.
Speaking at local radio in Banjul, The Gambia Government Spokesperson Ebrima Sankareh denied these reports saying the modalities of the ex-military man’s trial is being worked on and is at an advanced stage.
The Gambia Government accepted the recommendations of the Truth Reconciliation and Reparations Commission TRRC to prosecute Jammeh for various human rights violations.
