The Gambian government is engaged in security discussions with Russia, with a primary focus on the escalating terrorist threats in Africa.

During the meeting, the foreign ministers of The Gambia and Russia deliberated on responses to the growing terrorist menace on the African continent.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov revealed in a press conference on Tuesday that the talks specifically addressed issues in the Sahara-Sahel region, addressing security concerns in Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, and Chad.
