The Gambia has entered day two of its vaccination roll out exercise against COVID-19.
The National Covid-19 Vaccination Program, launched on Wednesday by President Adama Barrow will in the long run, see most Gambians vaccinated with priority given to frontline workers, the elderly and those with comorbidities.
After taking the first vaccine publicly during the launch, President Barrow assured citizens of safety of the vaccines, adding that more would be procured in the coming months.
Close to 5000 people have been infected with the Covid-19 virus since March 2020 and about 150 Covid-related deaths
