Strong trade and good governance can contribute to improving human rights – Roland Ebole
The implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) without infringing on people’s rights dominated discussions on Tuesday, day 2 of the ongoing 2023 African Union/ Network of African National Human Rights Institutions policy dialogue.

The dialogue brings together human rights actors and institutions across the continent and is being held at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and it aims to influence the AfCFTA document to pay attention to the inclusion of human rights of the African population.

In his submission, Roland Ebole, a human rights expert opined that the combination of strong trade and good governance contributes greatly to inclusive growth and sustainable development and therefore improves human rights.
