In a bid to enhance professionalism and service delivery within the Directorate of Road Safety and Traffic Management, Inspector General of Police William Fayia Sellu has called on traffic police officers to maintain high standards of conduct while performing their duties.
Addressing Divisional Traffic Officers (DTOs) and their teams recently at the Senior Police Officers’ Mess in Kingtom, Western Area, IGP Sellu stressed the importance of professionalism in both appearance and behavior.
The IGP also shared his leadership philosophy of leading by example, highlighting the significance of the police as representatives of state authority, with them.
He, however, warned officers to refrain from using mobile phones and taking pictures for social media while on duty, emphasizing the need for improved interactions with the public.
He further discussed the ongoing transformation of the Sierra Leone Police from a force to a service, urging officers to enhance their capacities and professional skills to align with this major shift
