Dozens of rioting university students of the Institute of Public Administration and Management {IPAM} have been arrested and calm restored by police in Freetown ahead of the College' 2019/2020 graduation ceremony on Wednesday.

The standoff occurred on the Main Campus at AJ Momoh Street on Monday evening where Students were seen throwing missiles of sachet water as a way to vent their dissatisfaction of not being shortlisted for the forthcoming Congregation.

The Institute of Public Administration and Management Like many other Members of the Constituent Colleges of the University Sierra Leone turn down Students every year, during congregation ceremonies.

But this year’s Congregation ceremony is overshadowed by a mixed bag of issues resulting in many failing to make the shortlist for graduation day.

While the students say failure of the Institution to publish grades early is one of the many problems that resulted in the standoff, the Authorities say they will follow the University policy to the letter and will leave will leave no stone unturned in doing the needful.
