Sierra Leone’s Parliament this week passed into law the country’s first Student Loan Scheme Bill 2021; a legislation which according to the Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Professor Alpha Tejan Wurie is to ensure more pupils access tertiary education and drastically reduce the number of dropouts.
