Elected officials from Sierra Leone’s opposition All People’s Congress who boycotted office after the inauguration of President Julius Maada Bio have begun taking their Oath of office.
Mayors and local ward councilors for three months stayed away from their offices in protest of Bio’s victory in the June 24 elections.
They cited electoral irregularities and accused the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party SLPP of influencing the electoral commission during the vote.
