Sierra Leonean President Julius Maada Bio has launched a Free Education Project supported by a Multi-million dollar donor Trust Fund.
It is the largest funded education sector development initiative, costing over 65 million dollars.
The World Bank, Irish Aid, European Union in Sierra Leone, and the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office are funding the initiative through various funding arrangements.
The project development objectives are to improve the management of the education system, teaching practices, and learning conditions.
It is a five-year project supporting nation-wide, primary and secondary education.
Ibrahim Sheriff is the spokesman for Sierra Leone’s Ministry for Basic and Secondary Education.
He’s been telling my colleague Adolphus Mawolo more about this project.
