The Sierra Leone government has officially desccribed Sunday’s attack a failed coup plot against President Julius Maada Bio’s regime.

Recall that several military barracks and correctional facilities were attacked during the attack resulting in the escape of over 2000 inmates.

At least 20 people including thirteen serving military personnel were killed and an undisclosed number of others injured.

Following days of apprehension, the nation’s security sector held a press briefing on the state’s findings and to equally restore public confidence in the face of uncertainties.
