Sierra Leone Election – Matters Arising

The election in Sierra Leone dominated news events and activities during the week, including the swift nature of President Maada Bio being sworn into office merely an hour after being pronounced winner of elections, got people talking.

This is what the Sierra Leonean constitution states.

Contending with his primary rival Samura Kamara of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC), President Bio secured a total of 1,566,932 votes amounting for 56%.

Aside the results, there were other issues of transparency raised by the oppositions.
