Tax debts, late payment of salaries, among other problems are fostering crisis in Senegal’s private press sector.

This situation is pushing some press bosses to suspend the publication of their daily newspapers, as is the case of the Africome Group, which has put the publication of its daily newspapers: Stades and Sunu Lamb, on standby.

The Senegalese press bosses continue to mediate in vain for a moratorium on tax debt by the new authorities.

As a reminder, former President Macky Sall had decided on tax erasure for the press companies during a meeting.

Listen to Mamadou Ibra Kane, Director of the Stades dailies, and Sunu Lamb, who is also President of the Senegalese Press Employers’ Association, on this subject.
