Senegal’s Council for the Observation of the Rules of Ethics and Professional Conduct in the Media (CORED) has officially appointed its seven tribunal members. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by the Minister of Justice, Ismaïla Madior Fall.
The newly appointed members of this self-regulatory media body are Cheikh Malick Coly, Courani Diarra, Babacar Diop, Mimouna Guèye, Cheikh Tidiane Ndiaye, Awa Thiao, and Raki Noëlle Wane.
Their primary responsibility will be to ensure that journalists in the country adhere to ethical standards and face appropriate consequences for any violations.
